Veined Quartz: 2019’s Top Countertops

Kitchen designs usually exude or showcase the year of their creation. The truth, however, is that long as you love the finishes and materials in style at the time, it’s okay to see them even after 8-10 years. But if you want to have an updated 2019 kitchen, you need to have the latest countertops.

Harbour View Kitchen & Bath discusses the merits of veined quartz countertops and how you can make them work for your kitchen.

Quartz Over Granite and Marble

Quartz rose last year as the preferred countertop material over granite and marble. It’s highly durable, non-porous and comes in a wide variety of styles. We don’t expect this trend to wane in 2019. In fact, we see more countertop designs with eye-catching color variations other than plain white.

Color in Veining

The early 2000s saw busy, speckled granite in countertops and kitchen cabinets. Today, 19 years down the line, we see more countertops featuring less packed color variation. The color appears in veining, contrasting against the main shade of the stone.

Marble-looking quartz features a white background and gray, tan, or black veining. There are also black stones with white and gray veining and gray stones with white veining. Random veining makes the stone look more natural and unique.

Pair Hardware with Veining

To make your countertop and bathroom cabinets veining pack an even bigger punch, pair black hardware against a white stone with gray or black veining. Larger ripples of veining on a slab make a dramatic statement when it runs up the wall as the backsplash. The same is true when countertops continue down the sides of a cabinet or island in a waterfall finish.

Harbour View Kitchen & Bath offers countertops from the best-known brands in the industry. You’re sure to find countertops that will match the other components of your home’s décor. We serve residents of Norfolk, VA, and its surrounding areas. Call us at (757) 644-0848 for a free estimate.
